Offshore storm brings coastal flooding warnings; scattered showers expected

Posted: Updated:

New Jersey started off with mostly sunny skies and breezy conditions Thursday, with cloudy conditions on tap for the nighttime hours.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that a storm off the coast of the Jersey Shore is causing some coastal flooding concerns to the Garden State during high tide.

Portions of the shore saw very rough surf and severe beach erosion due to the storm. This includes Bay Head, which recently underwent a major beach replenishment project.

Curren says that Thursday evening will see mainly cloudy skies with on-and-off-again rain showers. Temperatures will dip to the low-50s.

Friday will see cloudy and breezy conditions with temperatures rising to only around 60 degrees.

Curren says that the weekend is expected to see decent weather with temperatures in the mid-60s under partly sunny skies.
