A Vineland Public Schools teacher who decides to kneel during the Pledge of Allegiance has been assigned to duties outside the classroom during morning announcements, school officials confirmed.
District officials made the decision, hoping to please both sides following a school board meeting last Wednesday.
An objector told the school board the teacher's decision was bringing a political agenda into the Sgt. Dominick Pilla Middle School classroom.
The school bears the name of a local U.S. Army Ranger killed back in 1993 while on a mission in Somalia.
The teacher has not been publicly identified at this point.
