Prosecutors: Former Army captain caught doing ‘reconnaissance’ on GWB

Bergen County prosecutors say a former captain in the Army from Wallington is being held until his trial after he was caught doing "reconnaissance" on the George Washington Bridge.
Daniel Czerepak, 29, made his first court appearance Monday, and was ordered to be held at the Bergen County Jail.
According to Bergen County prosecutors, Czerepak was allegedly caught two weeks ago trying to get to a restricted area of the bridge in Fort Lee.
Prosecutors say he may have been planning a wider assault on local bridges and tunnels. Electronic toll records showed Czerepak had been recently to the Lincoln Tunnel, Brooklyn Bridge and Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
Czerepak is due back in court next Tuesday.
