Anyone looking to live in one of the safest towns in the state may consider moving to Marlboro or Monroe Township.
Home security company Frontpoint has named the two towns as the “least-robbed” towns in all of New Jersey.
“We put a specific plan into place to keep Marlboro residents safe,” says Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik.
Both towns did not have any robberies in 2017.
News 12 New Jersey spoke with some Marlboro residents who said that they were not surprised by the news.
“It’s not only a safe place to live, it’s a wonderful place to live,” says Marlboro resident David Levinsky.
Hermine Goldstein says that she also agrees.
“It’s just a pretty town. I’m just comfortable here, you know? We’re here 40 years,” she says.
Mayor Hornik says that Marlboro also ranked high in another safety report.
“The 34th safest city in America,” he says.
So how does a town stay so safe?
"It takes a great police department,” the mayor says. "We've engaged the public, because the public has eyes on, ears on what's going on out there."
