Yank Marine is a New Jersey-based shipyard in Tuckahoe.
For more than 40 years, Yank has constructed over 100 new vessels, including NY Waterway's Betsy Ross and Molly Pitcher -- which are now being joined by the newest ferry in the fleet, the Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The F.D.R. is a 500-passenger ferry that stands 109-feet long, 32-feet wide and draws just 6 feet, reducing the need for dredging.

Large windows let in a fresh breeze for 300 passengers on the lower deck, traveling at 24 mph across the water, along with plenty of amenities onboard that help make for a comfortable commute.

The upper deck has bench seating for 200, along with The Pilot House -- where the captain sits to control its twin EPA "Tier 3" compliant engines, the cleanest-burning marine diesel engines currently available in America that are capable of a service speed of 21 knots, or about 24 mph.
