Looks like there will be a ‘Clerks III’ movie after all

It looks like there will be a second sequel to the 1994 cult-classic Jersey movie “Clerks” after all.
Filmmaker and New Jersey native Kevin Smith announced on Instagram that he has started writing a script for “Clerks III.”
“It’ll be a movie that concludes a saga. It’ll be a movie about how you’re never too old to completely change your life,” Smith wrote.
Smith also stated that this will be a completely different script than the previous “Clerks III” script that he wrote several years ago. Smith had previously stated that he was unhappy with how that script turned out and chose not to make that movie.
Earlier this year Smith held a script-reading of that version of “Clerks III” as a charity event to raise money for the First Avenue Playhouse in Atlantic Highlands, which was in danger of closing.
Smith, who was born in Red Bank and grew up in Highlands, is known for a series of movies taking place in the Garden State.
His “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” movie is scheduled to be released Oct. 15.
