Published report: Joe Giudice asks for release from ICE custody, be sent back to Italy as he awaits decision

“Real Housewives of New Jersey” husband Joe Giudice is ready to go back to Italy for now, according to a report from Page Six.
As Giudice awaits a decision on whether he'll be deported to his native country, Page Six reports he asked the court to release him from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody and send him to Italy.
Giuidice, 47, was ordered to be deported to his native country of Italy back in October of 2018, and has been behind bars since November of 2016 after getting sentenced for tax evasion.
He was released from prison and into ICE custody this March, as a judge has yet to rule his fate.
Giudice and his wife, Teresa, 47, pleaded guilty in 2014 to financial fraud. Giudice is an Italian citizen who was brought to the U.S. as a baby and says he wasn't aware he wasn't an American citizen.
Teresa Giudice served nearly a year in prison and was freed in December 2015.
The couple has four daughters together.
