WASHINGTON, D.C. -

President Donald Trump says he will increase economic sanctions on Iran following the weekend attack on a Saudi Arabian oil facility.

The president tweeted, saying, “I have just instructed the Secretary of the Treasury to substantially increase Sanctions on the country of Iran!"

President Trump made the announcement as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is headed to Saudi Arabia.

He plans to discuss how to respond to the attack with Saudi leaders.

Pompeo has said Iran is behind the attack, but Trump has not publicly done that yet.

There is no word at this moment what exactly the sanctions will be.
