NJ teen files federal lawsuit against e-cigarette maker Juul

Posted: Updated:

A South Jersey teenager is suing the makers of Juul e-cigarettes.

The federal lawsuit claims that Juul's social media marketing of the popular device led to his nicotine addiction, hospitalization and serious health problems.

The 18-year-old, who is from Medford, says he began using Juul devices in early 2017 when he was a junior in high school.

Documents claim the company was only concerned with sales and marketing to teenager, rather than safety and health warnings.

There is no word yet on whether Juul has responded to the lawsuit.
