Need some body art? Tattooists gather for Inked Out NJ tattoo convention

Tattoo fans and tattoo artists gathered in Secaucus on Friday for the Inked Out NJ tattoo convention and music festival.
The event’s organizer says that the three-day convention held at the Meadowlands Expo Center is a multi-cultural gathering of tattoo artists.
“We have about 250 different vendors and tattoo artists and they come from all around the world,” says organizer Mario Barth.
Barth says that he wanted this convention to be different from other tattoo conventions.
“I want to make an industry-driven show and that why we started it,” he says.
This year’s event features a unique vendor – Save My Ink Forever.
“Actual tattoo preservation once someone’s loved one passes away,” says CEO Kyle Sherwood. “Framing it, preserving it and then giving it back to the family.”
Barth says that it is important to showcase the artists at the convention.
“Every tattoo artist is an artist,” he says. “You could compare them to the Rembrandts, the Picassos.”
Inked Out NJ runs through Sunday.
