Two people were injured in an overnight shooting in Asbury Park, authorities say.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office confirms that officers are investigating a shooting on Prospect Avenue, but it did not provide any additional details.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Monday.

Neighbors in the area say that they are tired of the violence in Asbury Park.

“I want us to have state police here. I want them in here. I want them in Bradley Beach and Neptune. I want them to take over the policing in this area and get things done,” said one neighbor who did not wish to be named.

It was not immediately known if any arrests have been made.
