Did you know the first football team to lay roots in New Jersey dates back to the 1800s?
It was a team based in Orange known as the Tornadoes.
In 1929, the team was part of the NFL. In 1930, the team moved to Newark.
The team was eventually sold to Boston and eventually moved to become the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins do not list New Jersey in their original history. The team claims that an ownership change in 1932 marks the start of the franchise.
