Elmora Troopers head to Seaside Heights for day of fun

The Elmora Troopers Little League team headed to Seaside Heights for a day of fun in the sun -- just a day after receiving congratulations from Gov. Phil Murphy.
Their beach day started on the world-famous boardwalk, where Mayor Tony Vaz welcomed the 13 players and coaches.
The team enjoyed a perfect beach day at Breakwater Beach Water Park, and will then head over to the beach and stop at an authentic local Cuban restaurant for dinner before heading back north.
The team from Elizabeth placed fourth overall in the nation at the recent Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
About half of the players say it was their first time ever in Seaside Heights.
“It's just amazing, I'm so appreciative they gave us the opportunity to give us stuff like this,” says Little Leaguer Santi Alvarez. “It was just amazing that we made it this far and these boys were so great to us.”
Many of the players say they hope to go on and play professional baseball in the future.
