Prosecutors: Man admits to beating girlfriend, leaving her to die in motel room

A man from Seaside Heights has admitted to brutally beating his girlfriend and leaving her to die alone in a motel room.

According to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Matthew DeMartin, 38, pleaded guilty to first degree aggravated manslaughter in the death of Sharon Falcetano.

Seaside Heights police found Falcetano's body back in February 2018 inside a room the couple were sharing at the Glendale Motel.
An autopsy revealed she suffered multiple blunt-force trauma injuries to her head and body.
Officials say her death was ruled a homicide.
DeMartin admitted he assaulted Falcetano and left her body in the room without calling for emergency aid.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
