Police: Gunman fired shots at NJ Transit commuter park and ride
Police are seeking a gunman who fired several shots at a New Jersey Transit park and ride in Old Bridge.
The shooting happened Monday just before 4 p.m. at the park and ride near Route 9.
According to NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith, four people were waiting for a bus when the man with a rifle opened fire.
"There were some people that just said they heard the pops and ran for shelter,” says Deputy Chief Patrick Clark. Some people were in the area and kind of saw brief flashes and ran for cover themselves. We have some descriptions of the shooter. There's some additional information that we're following up on and the investigation is ongoing at this time."

The man was seen running with the rifle toward a nearby housing complex. Police have cleared that complex, but still have not found the suspect.
No one was injured.
