VIDEO: Police officer dragged about 50 feet while trying to arrest teens

New video has been released showing a police officer in Gloucester Township trying to arrest a teenage driver when the driver sped off, dragging the officer.
According to police, Officer Craig Walsh was on patrol Wednesday around 11 p.m. at the Howard Johnson Hotel.
Police say Walsh saw a teen boy running from the hotel building to a car with its lights off that was parked in the middle of a driveway.
In the video, Walsh is seen approaching the vehicle and walking over to the passenger door.
Another teen boy is seen in the passenger seat.
During their conversation, the teen suddenly started the car, put the car in reverse and accelerated backward.
Officer Walsh was pinned in the open passenger door and dragged about 50 feet before the driver crashed into a tree.
The officer’s foot was run over by the car, but he still managed to capture the two suspects.

Police say they found more than five ounces of marijuana, a distribution scale and drug-related packaging materials while searching the vehicle.
Both teens have been charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, several other drug-related charges, and money laundering.
