North Fork sunflower maze draws thousands through fall

Thousands flock to the North Fork Sunflower Maze in Mattituck over the course of the summer and early fall to catch a glimpse of the millions of sunflowers standing tall among the farm.
People from as far away as New Jersey and Connecticut drive to the East End to walk through the 20-acre field.
The farmers say the maze not only makes for a great Instagram backdrop, but also provides an experience that's almost "spiritual" for visitors.
"This is a throwback to the good old days,” says Cheryl Sidor, of the North Fork Sunflower Maze. “People take their pictures and they walk. Phones are down, all these devices are down. They're learning to be in the moment."
The maze is open seven days a week.
