Police: Driver loses control, crashes vehicle into truck and home

Posted: Updated:

Police in Newark say a driver drove her vehicle into a truck, and then a home, after somehow losing control.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. on Elm and Prospect streets.

According to witnesses, the driver was seen limping out of her SUV and was taken to the hospital.

For some reason, she lost control -- first ramming into the back of a truck before driving into the home.

The SUV has since been towed away, but not after busting a gas line as well. PSE&G shut off the line and is now working on repairs.

A resident says everyone in the house was either on vacation or not home when the crash happened.

No one was inside the home when the crash happened, and there was no one seriously hurt.
