The "Lucky 13" are representing New Jersey for round two of the Little League World Series in Pennsylvania.
The Elmora Troopers from Elizabeth advanced past the first round of the series with a win over Oregon on Friday.
But the Troopers' matchup against Hawaii Sunday was suspended midway through the game due to a lightning strike in the area. It will resume Monday at 1 p.m.
The Elizabeth team trails 6-0 in the game, but because of the double-elimination format, they will not be eliminated if they lose.
Meanwhile, the whole neighborhood, especially parents of current and former Troopers, are cheering on the Mid-Atlantic champions.
"Everyone feels affected and part of the community, even with something they're not directly part of," says Efrona Hagler, whose son is a former member of the team.
Councilwoman Patricia Perkins-Aguste says there will be a parade to celebrate the team in September regardless of how far they go in the tournament.
