Fire officials: Large fire breaks out at Englewood home

Posted: Updated:

Fire officials say a large fire broke out at a home in Englewood early Sunday morning.

The fire broke out at a three-story home on Demarest Avenue. Officials say fire crews arrived just after 6 a.m.

The homeowner evacuated without assistance, fire crews say.

Officials say no one was injured, but a dog did die in the fire. Another dog survived.

They say the home is no longer inhabitable and it will be given to the city for further evaluation.

Fire officials say the fire was focused on the kitchen when crews arrived.
