13-year-old boy impaled by beach umbrella on beach in Massachusetts

A 13-year-old boy in Massachusetts is nursing a major shoulder injury after being impaled by an umbrella while on the beach.
The incident happened Friday at Good Harbor Beach.
According to firefighters, the boy was impaled on his left shoulder and was bleeding badly when bystanders rushed to help him.
Officials say a gust of wind pulled the umbrella out of the sand.
Firefighters say his shoulder injury is serious, but he will be OK.
Sen. Bob Menendez announced a proposal last month to make beach umbrellas safer after a similar incident happened last year at the Jersey Shore.
