Prosecutors ID Plainfield teen killed blocks away from anti-violence event

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office has identified a 16-year-old Plainfield boy who was shot and killed Tuesday night.

Prosecutors ID Plainfield teen killed blocks away from anti-violence event
The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office has identified a 16-year-old Plainfield boy who was shot and killed just a few blocks away from a National Night Out event Tuesday night.
Altereek Johnson was shot on Steiner Avenue. He was taken to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries.
Officials say Johnson was the intended target of the shooting but did not release any further details.
No one else was hurt.
No arrests have been made.
