Police say a Point Pleasant man was hit and killed by a car in Brick Saturday night.

They say the victim, identified as 72-year-old Arthur Burke, was trying to walk across State Highway 88 shortly after 10 p.m.

Police say Burke was walking in the path of a Chevrolet Corvette by Post Road when he was struck by the front right bumper.

Burke died from his injuries. The driver and the passenger of the Corvette are expected to recover.
