BERGEN COUNTY -

A police standoff in Bergen County with an armed man ended peacefully Friday morning.

Reports say a 32-year-old man was drinking when he got into a family argument, grabbed a rifle and barricaded himself in the basement.

A Bergen County SWAT team and crisis negotiation unit was called to the scene as officers blocked off the area.

The man eventually surrendered and was taken to a hospital.

Police say charges aren't likely, but they seized 20 legally-registered guns the man owns.
