But first, let me take a selfie: Selfie museum opens in Paramus

PARAMUS -

A Paramus museum will be making selfies come to life with a new exhibit.

Hackensack High School teacher Chrisena Coleman created The Selfie Museum in order to provide teens a safe place to take pictures of themselves.

"Every day in the halls of schools all over the world kids are taking selfies. While they're in lunch, in the hall, in class, they love taking pictures of themselves,” she says. “So I wanted to find a place where kids can come and do what they want to do and have friends and their parents come out and have fun with them."

The museum will have more than 25 exhibits to choose from. Visitors can take selfies in front of classic movie posters or artwork from NFL legends.

"People take selfies to show what they've been doing all day, show off their new makeup, their new earrings, whatever they feel they should be posting on social media,” says 17-year-old Athena Williams.

The museum will be open from 12 to 7:30 p.m. until Aug. 3. It is located at 55 West Midland Ave. in Paramus.
