Powerful thunderstorms possible in New Jersey

EDISON -

Powerful thunderstorms could possibly pass through New Jersey Tuesday evening.

News 12 New Jersey Meteorologist Dave Curren says that the storms could potentially produce heavy rain and flash flooding. Thunder and lightning will also be a factor.

The storms come one week after another powerful storm produced major power outages around the state. Around 360,000 utility customers lost power during that storm.

Tuesday’s storm should last through the evening before moving out. Overnight conditions will be partly cloudy with temperatures in the mid-70s.

Wednesday will see mostly sunny skies with another chance for a thunderstorm. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s.

Thursday will see a mix of sun and clouds with a high of around 86 degrees.
