Newark Girl Scouts beautify neighborhood by painting murals

Girl Scouts in Newark painted a mural in their community on Saturday.
The first of five planned murals was painted at Mildred Helms Park on Clinton Avenue.
Artists and other members of the community were also there to help.
"Our goal was to create some positive representation of women in the community, celebrate the leadership of women, girls and the Girl Scouts throughout Newark's history," said Vicki Fernandez, a volunteer of the Newark Girl Scouts.
The plan is to make one mural in each ward of the city.
