Police in Franklin Township, Gloucester County say three people were killed, and a child was sent to the hospital when a car collided with a tanker truck loaded with propane.

According to police, a 2005 Mazda M3 driven by Mariela Cardoso-Baez, 19, of Bridgeton, entered the intersection and struck the truck. The car then flipped and was pinned underneath the truck.

Police say Cardoso-Baez, her father, Jose Cardoso, 44, and her mother, Adriana Baez Mellado, 45, were all declared dead at the scene.

Cardoso-Baez's 11-year-old brother was sent to Cooper University Hospital in critical condition. Authorities did not release his name.

The truck driver, Michael Brancu, 48, of Clementon, was sent to the hospital after complaining of neck and back pain.
