Police: Man steals iPhone; uploads his photo to victim’s Instagram

Maybe this isn’t the smartest move if you are planning on stealing.

The Kearny Police Department says that an iPhone thief stole a man’s device and then uploaded a photograph of himself to the victim’s Instagram story.

Police say that the theft occurred May 16.

Anyone who may be able to identify the man in the Instagram post is asked to call Kearny police at 201-998-1313 or email tips@kearnynjpd.org.
