ALPINE -

The Bergen County prosecutor is looking into whether a bag found at a scenic overlook in Alpine has human remains in it.

The bag was found Monday around 8 a.m.

According to the prosecutor, employees arrived for work at the Stateline Lookout concession stand and found a plastic bag hanging on the door.

The prosecutor says the workers noticed the contents appeared to be bones.

When police arrived, they concluded the bones were similar to a human.

The prosecutor's office is looking for the person who found the remains to get additional information.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Cold Case Unit at 201-226-5500.
