PATERSON -

A relative of two victims of Friday's shooting in Paterson says her family is no stranger to gun violence.

Gladys Reed confirmed with News 12 that her daughter was shot in the stomach and her grandson was shot in the ankle.

Reed's daughter, 42-year-old Trinisha Guthrie and her grandson 25-year-old Shaheem Davis were shot at Jefferson and North Main Street.

"I went through this again," Reed said. "I can't believe it. Nine years later....only thing is, they survived. My son didn't survive."

In 2009, Gladys lost her 26-year-old son, Larry Reed, to gun violence when a man opened fire during a party in Paterson.

Reed's daughter and grandson are expected to make full recoveries. The two other victims in Friday's shooting are also expected to be OK.

The suspect in that shooting is still at large.
