Members of the New Jersey State Police welcomed an honorary trooper into their ranks today.
Brett Holbrook, a 13-year-old from Michigan, has been dreaming of becoming a state trooper for a few years.
His father was pulled over in Ohio for speeding, and ever since then he was impressed with the officer and made it a goal to learn about the job.
Brett made his stop in Newark as part of a nationwide tour to meet with state police and highway patrol agencies.
Brett lives with a disease that has an impact on his speech and development, but his parents say his many visits with police officers has helped. So far, he has visited law enforcement in over 23 states.
His next stops are Delaware and Washington, D.C.
