The Camden County Prosecutor's Office has provided a probable cause statement regarding the woman charged with stabbing her identical twin sister to death.
The stabbing happened Saturday around 5:38 a.m. on the 1200 block of East State Street at the Centennial Village Apartments.
Police say Amanda Ramirez, 27, has been charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter in the fatal stabbing of her identical twin sister, Anna Ramirez.
In the statement, officers observed several bloody footprints leading from the victim’s body to the doorstep of the village.
Officers also say Amanda appeared to have blood on her clothing.
Amanda Ramirez allegedly told police several different stories about the killing, but eventually said she stabbed her sister only after her sister started the fight and came at her with a knife.
A doctor ruled the cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest and the manner of death to be homicide.
Anna Ramirez was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where she died.
