Seaside Park police officer saves choking child

A Seaside Park police officer is being hailed a hero for saving a young child who was choking.
A Park Arcade employee tells News 12 New Jersey that the incident happened Sunday. Ksenia Dmitrie says that the 1-year-old girl’s mother started yelling for help as soon as she walked into the arcade Sunday around 6:30 p.m.
“She shouted ‘Call 911. Something happened with my baby,’ so everyone was shocked,” Dmitrie says.
Officer Daniel Maguire was nearby and rushed to help. He was able to dislodge the item from the child’s throat by administering back blows.
