WalletHub: New Jersey ranked least patriotic state in the US

A new survey released by WalletHub says New Jersey is the least patriotic state in the United States.
The survey evaluated each state based on two categories: military engagement and civic engagement.
Within each category, the states were compared with different indicators of patriotism, such as share of adults who voted in the 2016 presidential elections, veterans per 1,000 civilian adults, participation in jury duty and Peace Corps volunteers.
New Jersey finished 48th in military engagement and 45th in civic engagement.
New York was named the second least patriotic state, followed by California.
The most patriotic states, according to the survey, are New Hampshire, Wyoming and Vermont.
WalletHub noted that red states tended to score higher on the patriotic scale than blue states.
