Police: Multi-vehicle crash on I-80 leaves 2 injured

MOUNT ARLINGTON -

A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 left at least two people injured and backed up traffic for miles.

New Jersey State Police say that the crash happened just before 1 p.m. in the eastbound lanes in the area of Mount Arlington. They say that several cars were involved in the crash. Two people were seriously injured, with one of them taken to the hospital via helicopter.

Several eastbound lanes were closed in the area while crews cleaned up the crash. Traffic was delayed for a time.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.
