Metro-North passenger: Riders forced off disabled train near Westport
A passenger on a Metro-North train says riders were stranded briefly Thursday near Westport after their train struck an object and became disabled on the tracks.
Metro-North Railroad tweeted that the New Haven Line Train #1504, the 5:49 a.m. from Grand Central Terminal to New Haven became disabled near Westport due to operational issues.

Officials say customers were accommodated by the 7:29 a.m. out of East Norwalk.
Officials did not say what caused the train to become disabled, but a passenger tells News 12 that the train may have struck an object on the tracks. The rider says the object appeared to be a piece of machinery that was left on the tracks.
