Security of religious institutions in New Jersey was the topic on hand in Morristown Friday.

Officials held a discussion at the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown about safety. The school is one of the largest Jewish institutions in the state. Children attend its yeshiva, and there are hundreds of adults from around the world studying to become rabbis.

The college’s high profile has raised concerns about safety, according to the head of the school.

“There is tremendous danger and peril for our students, faculty, young kids, women and teachers who come here. This is very much on our mind,” says Rabbi Moshe Herson.

The event to discuss security and available funding for improvements included a visit by two Texas congressmen who sit on Homeland Security or Intelligence committees, along with the Morris County sheriff.
