TMZ: Death of ‘Shark Tank’ star’s brother similar to recent tourist deaths

Posted: Updated:
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC -

Barbara Corcoran, one of the judges on the show "Shark Tank," revealed Tuesday to TMZ her brother died under eerily similar circumstances to the six other Americans in the Dominican Republic.

Corcoran told TMZ her brother, John Corcoran, 60, was found dead in his Dominican Republic hotel room back in April.

While no autopsy was performed, officials told her he died of a heart attack.

But since the news of six other tourist deaths in the country, she's wondering if her brother's death is connected.

According to the New York Times, John is the seventh American tourist to be found dead in the country since last June.

The report says the family members of the others have suggested the deaths are connected and suspicious.

John owned Statewide Roofing and Siding in Edgewater.

It’s unclear which resort John was staying.
