Singer Ace Young stars in ‘Aida’ at Axelrod Performing Arts Center

Singer and former “American Idol” star Ace Young is starring in the play “Aida” which is currently showing at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal.
“Aida” is a love story between an enslaved princess and a commander in the Egyptian army. It is set to the music of Elton John and Tim Rice.
Young plays the role of Radames. He says that it was a complicated role to play.
“The love triangle between Radames, Amneris and Aida will tear you apart,” Young says.
This is Young's first production of Aida. But he has become a mainstay of theaters across the country and Broadway in the years since he was a finalist on American Idol back in 2006. He says Aida will hold a special place for how it has challenged him as an artist.
“I get to go through all these emotions I've never been through in any other show,” he says.
Performances of “Aida” will continue through June 16. Ticket information can be found here.
