Experts: 9 to 15 named storms likely this hurricane season

The 2019 Atlantic hurricane season begins today.
Experts predict a "near normal" season in the Atlantic. They say nine to 15 named storms are likely along with two to four Category 3 hurricanes.
They cannot predict how many will make landfall.
Scientists have blamed global warming for the recent surge of stronger storms that have caused catastrophic damage.
There has been one named stormed this year so far – subtropical storm Andrea.
Hurricane season officially ends on Nov. 30.
