BRICK TOWNSHIP -

Brick Township police are cracking down on illegal and illicit activity in the rear parking lot of an adult book store.

The department says that officers have made six arrests since March 5 in the back parking lot of Pleasure Zone, located at 235 Chambers Bridge Road. All of the arrests have been related to drug and drug paraphernalia possession.

“The rear lot of the Pleasure Zone has been a hotbed of suspicious activity, including drug use. These arrests and other investigative practices are part of an effort to curb the illicit activity,” Brick Township Police Sgt. Jim Kelly said in a statement.

Police say that Pleasure Zone management is doing its part to stop the crime by increasing the lighting in the back lot, installing surveillance cameras and putting up signs warning would-be criminals that the area is being monitored.
