Storms sweeping across northern New Jersey
Strong to severe thunderstorms were sweeping across parts of New Jersey Sunday evening, following a warm afternoon.
Muggy conditions set the stage for storms to sweep across northern New Jersey from west to east.
News 12 meteorologists say strong, damaging wind gusts and heavy rain are the biggest threats. Some small hail and even a possible isolated tornado can't be ruled out.
Expect scattered storms popping up across the northwestern part of the state this evening, with another line of fast-moving storms pushing through later.
Monday will be mostly sunny with a chance of a thunderstorm, especially toward the afternoon. Expect summer-like heat and humidity -- the temperatures will top out in the mid-80s.
