Fairfield school tapes teacher to wall to raise money

Students and teachers at Assumption Catholic School in Fairfield raised nearly $1,200 for the school -- by taping a teacher to the wall.
The fundraiser was inspired by the latest YouTube sensation. A faculty member saw a video on social media and asked the principal, who also happens to be her husband, to adopt the idea.
“Interestingly enough, came out of Teacher Appreciation Week,” says Principal Steven Santoli. “In which we’re trying to give our students a chance to participate in some of the fundraising efforts.”
The students were happy to take part, but the true heroes were the teachers. Kathy Andrade's team raised the most funds in order to see their teacher covered in tape.

“The kids have been adding their fives and 10s all the last couple of weeks,” says Andrade.
The funds raised will go toward the school’s facilities to be enjoyed by all.
