Police: Driver who hit toddler with truck, left scene has been arrested

NEWARK -

Police say they have arrested the man who stuck a toddler with a pickup truck before leaving the scene Sunday morning.

Officials say 2-year-old Eno Itoro was struck outside of her home near 18th and Brookdale avenues.

Shortly after the incident, police say they arrested and charged 26-year-old Romane Errol Sr. with the hit-and-run. They say Errol was driving with a suspended and expired license.

Itoro is now at the University Hospital with rib fractures, double collapsed lung and lung lacerations.
