NEPTUNE -

A boil water advisory is in effect for areas of Neptune following a large water leak.

The leak happened Wednesday on Memorial Drive between Route 33 and Springwood Avenue.

Construction crews somehow caused the massive flooding.

NJ American Water was on the scene working to contain the leak.

Due to the issue, residents on Memorial Drive, Corlies, Heck, Embury and Atkins avenues should boil their water as a precaution.

NJ American Water will keep customers updated on their progress.
