Police in Toms River say eight students suffered minor injuries after a school bus driver, allegedly under the influence of prescription drugs, rear-ended a parked bus.

The accident happened Monday around 7:30 a.m. in Lacey Township.

According to police, Cheryl Rooth, 57, of Whiting, was dropping off kids at the Ocean County Vocational Technical School when she rammed the back of the unoccupied bus parked in front of her.

Police say Rooth was pulling into the parking lot at the time of the crash.

Rooth has been charged with driving under the influence of prescription drugs while driving the bus.

Twenty-eight students were on the bus -- eight suffered minor injuries.
