A California woman is facing multiple counts of animal cruelty charges after she allegedly threw seven 3-day-old puppies into a dumpster.
The Desert Sun reports that Deborah Sue Culwell was arrested Monday around 5:30 p.m. Officials say that Culwell, of Coachella, California, dumped the puppies behind an auto parts story Thursday.
Authorities released surveillance video which showed a woman with long dark hair pulling up in a Jeep next to a trash bin outside the Napa Auto Parts store. The woman is seen dropping a plastic bag into the dumpster and then driving away.
A passerby saw the incident and told a store employee who contacted the police.
The puppies were rescued from the dumpster and treated by veterinarians. The animals are expected to be OK.
Culwell faces multiple animal cruelty charges.
