Stop & Shop workers Friday are continuing to strike despite the busy Easter and Passover holiday weekend.
About 30,000 employees across southern New England say they will do whatever it takes to fight for their future.
The workers say they are now applying for unemployment, and some have already been living paycheck to paycheck.
About 13,000 Stop & Shop workers across the state have been on the picket lines since Thursday. They say the company, which made $2 billion last year, wants to take away pensions and vacations and triple their health care costs.
Workers say the company has been in negotiations with the union in Providence, Rhode Island, but don't expect the strike to end any time soon.
Jen Brogan, a Stop & Shop spokeswoman, released a statement Thursday saying, "Negotiations are continuing with the five UFCW local unions. Our primary goal remains to get our associates back to work with a contract that has pay increases for all associates, continued health benefits for eligible associates and increased pension contributions. We remain focused on getting back to fully serving our customers every day," Brogan says.
A GoFundMe for Stop & Shop workers has raised $21,000 in less than 24-hours.
