Police: Man cited for public urination charged with DWI 30 minutes later

A Hackettstown man is facing drunk driving charges a mere 30 minutes after he was also allegedly cited for public urination.
Hackettstown police say that officers were called to Bea McNally’s Irish Pub on Grand Avenue just before 2 a.m. April 5 for reports of a group of men wanting to beat up another man.
But when officers arrived they found 21-year-old Tyler McDaniels allegedly relieving himself in some bushes next to the building. McDaniels was given a citation for public urination and sent on his way.
Police say that about 30 minutes later officers saw a vehicle traveling very quickly down Washington Street. Police say that the driver of the vehicle drove over a curb and then pulled into the Bea McNally’s parking lot.
Officers identified the driver as McDaniels and say that he was driving while intoxicated.
McDaniels faces several charges, including driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath samples and reckless driving.
